A primary description of my career is that of adult educator. I have spent my entire career involved in some form of adult
education, whether it has been teaching, training, human resource development, coaching, or mentoring.

My teaching background also includes classes at a local community college, where I have taught information systems, first-line
supervision, human resource management, interpersonal communication, customer service and customer expectations, managing
conflict and conflict resolution classes.
Corporate Experience
The job titles for the first half of my career included claims manager, litigation manager, arbitrator, and manager of training and
development. The second half of my career has been spent working with what I am most passionate about, helping adults learn
and grow; both personally and professionally.
A Love of Learning
I have had a life-long love of learning. I first obtained an undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1987. I completed a
Master's in Business Administration in 2000, a second Master's in Adult Education in 2004, a Certificate in Training & Performance
Improvement in 2005, and I completed my Ph.D. in 2010.
My Ph.D. has a specialization in the field of adult education, with a specific interest in adult learning within an online classroom
environment. In order to complete my doctorate I had to complete all of the classes, pass a comprehensive examination, conduct
a research study, and write a dissertation.
I believe that there are no limits to what we can achieve; only we limit our own true potential. What it takes to achieve academic
success is determination, commitment, and most importantly of all: a willingness to learn and change. Believe in yourself, believe
in what you can be, hold on to that vision and you will make it!!

I am a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD),
and a former Toastmaster's club president.
